Sharp Aquos LC32D44U 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

I have both this TV as well as a Samsung LN-T2642H. It's very interesting to compare the two TV's performances. If you want the more balanced natural look, go with Sharp. If you're more interested in a vivid, colorful image go with Samsung. I also did an extended look at the Toshiba 26HL67.
There is a key difference between the panels Sharp uses compared to others. Sharp's TVs are made with panels called S-IPS while Samsung, Sony and Toshiba currently use a panel called S-PVA. This has everything to do with why Samsung, Sony and Toshiba have very strong color but one thing I noticed about Samsung is that when you look at it for a slightly low angle, the color gets darker and starts to invert. If you look it from above, the color gets lighter and starts to invert. With the Sharp, no matter what angle I look at it, the color doesn't change AT ALL! This is very impressive and cool!
I also notice that when I played around with the TV settings, it doesn't need much to look good, it almost always does. When you turn on the Active Contrast mode on the Sharp (it's equivalent to DNIe), it doesn't totally knock out the details in darker areas. At first, I had to keep checking to see if it was on or not because I was so used to the way the Samsung crushes black details even on the Low setting. Once again, I was more impress with the way this TV addresses contrast in fact I think the Sharp does a better job with contrast because of its black color.
The Sharp's black color is closer to black than the Samsung. The black color on the Samsung is more of a dark blue even on Warm temperature (it's especially noticably at slight vertical angles) but with the Sharp the black was much closer to real black.
The speakers on the Sharp doesn't distort at volume levels higher than 30. With the Samsung, when u turn the volume up pass 30, the bass tends to distort the fidelity of all the sound resulting in a buzz. This is probably due to the build of the unit and the lower wattage for the speakers. Sharp doesn't sound perfect either but it's definitely warmer and clearer at high volumes thanks to having 10 watts per speaker instead of 5. I would recommend everyone to get a 2.1 speaker for any LCD TV though. Take advantage of those sound outputs on the back of your TV! :) It definitely takes your experience to a higher level!
One minus I have with the Sharp was that it didn't have a headphone jack.
Overall, I think this is an excellent 32" TV. Sharp is definitely worth a look and probably my new LCD manufacturer of choice. It doesn't need as much tweaking when you switch between uses. I tested both TVs with PC (via DVI>HDMI), Xbox 360, HDTV, SDTV, HD-DVDs and upconverted DVDs. With the Samsung, I find myself always tweaking the settings between uses like changing the Energy Saving level, turning up the Digital NR for SDTV, turning it off for everything else, toning down the DNIe.
Thanks to Sharp's OPC, the backlight adjust very intelligently based on what's on the screen. I just leave the Active Contrast on because I know I'm not missing out darker details, the picture is very sharp and the panel is slightly faster thanks to the 6ms speed, which equals less motion blur with things like text and more solid image overall.
This Sharp is the real deal and reminds me much more of a CRT than the Samsung because the Samsung requires too much twinkering to get things comfortable. I think if the Samsung's black was more like true black and the vertical angle didnt distort so much I wouldn't tweak it as often.
So in summary, if you want the most vibrant colors and don't mind tweaking between uses by all means get a Samsung. (I still like the Samsung and would give it a 4 out of 5)
If you want a more, natural looking picture, that doesn't offer or require as much tweaking because it just plain looks good, go with a Sharp.
I think Toshiba and Sony TVs tend to do a better job with black crush and black color than Samsung but since the panels are the same technology (S-PVA), they still have the vibrant color and probably some vertical viewing weirdness.

I read alot of bad reviews and bought it anyway.
I really think its cool to shoot in HD for 100$(not counting card)
The USB connection comes up as an unrecognizable device, so I just use my card reader.
16gb Card shoots 6 hours(approx)in the 720 mode
For being so compact and hardly no buttons it takes a few times to get it down but it's easy after that.
only works with the headphones it comes with and they're junk along with MP3 player.
But i've actually used the MP3 player once when I left the Ipod at home.
I use it everyday

High Quality Black DisplayPort Male to HDMI Cable Male - 6 Feet / 2M Review

High Quality Black DisplayPort Male to HDMI Cable Male - 6 Feet / 2M
Average Reviews:

I purchased the cable to connect a computer with a DisplayPort (Lenovo T500) to the HDMI input on my Sony TV. Once I figured out that not all of the available computer resolutions are going to work on the TV, it worked perfectly. The cable functioned exactly as expected (though a longer cable would have been useful for me).
If you are a Lenovo user, however, be warned that Lenovo doesn't send audio out the DisplayPort so you will need separate audio cables.

Z-Line Designs Madrid Flat Panel TV Stand Review

Z-Line Designs Madrid Flat Panel TV Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was looking for a stand to mount my new 52" Sony LCD, and this item from Amazon looked sharp and had a good price.
A tip of my hat to the reviewer who assembled this in 1 hour - it took me closer to 3, but admittedly I am no handyman.
It did take two people to mount the TV once the stand was mostly assembled, but I guess with some imagination a person could do it alone. I would not want to risk damaging my new $1500 TV.
Since I know my limitations, I took my time, read the directions carefully, with very few missteps. The extra hardware included would make it possible to mount virtually any kind of flat panel TV; LCD or plasma. I've seen it advertised for a mount for a 46" TV, but my 52" looks great, and this stand is heavy and solid enough to support a TV several inches larger.
The metal and fiberboard top is pained a shiny black, and the finish really does look like it could be on a piano. The glass shelves offer plenty of room and sturdiness for any components you might want to add, and the horizontal swivel is a big plus.
There are of a variety of mounting heights. The bottom of my TV is the minimum 24" off the floor, but it could have gone about a foot higher.
The price does fluctuate. I paid closer to 2 Bens than 3, and I would recommend watching it until it hits that price point, with free shipping.
This item is made in China.

Bought this tv for $2400 compared to a panasonic hd for $3600 at the time. looked at circuit city to see how they compared but signal was not good in store. other philips models at best buy looked pretty good so i decided to give it a try. Was going to get the pany ED model for $2000 but when i saw the philips for 400 more could not pass it up.
got it home and wow!!! discovery HD had a coral reef show that will knock your socks off . Wife even said this was best thing we ever bought. great color plenty bright plenty of inputs even USB slide shows of jpgs' and plays mp3's off of thumb drive.
speakers even sound good enough for every day use but no fancy surround modes. TV even looks good on regular cable and stretches pics to fill screen automatically if you want. was kind of scared to get the phillips as most reviews on net go for pioneer or panasonic but for the price you will be happy.
some sites show this tv as black frame with silver speakers but mine came in all silver.

Save space and enjoy a wonderfully vivid picture with the stylish, 42-inch Philips 42PF7320A widescreen plasma TV, a great choice for your full-featured entertainment center. It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner for standard television broadcasts, and you can receive high-definition TV right out of the box with the optional, removable CableCARD, which picks up HD (ATSC) broadcasts from your digital cable provider (digital cable subscription required). This set includes a tabletop stand, but it's also wall-mountable with optional kit (VESA compatible). This plasma TV includes an anti-ageing circuit to help prevent screen burn-in and an anti-reflective coating on the screen.
This set uses Philips' exclusive Pixel Plus video processor to increase the number of lines and the number of pixels. The result is razor sharp pictures with incredible detail and dept, every time from any source.
The 42PF7320A has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution, 160-degree viewing angle, a 1500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Other features include picture-in-picture display (via component and HDMI connections), auto volume leveler, adjustable color temperature and sharpness, sleep timer, and V-Chip parental controls.
The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion. It performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl, resulting in a razor sharp image. This set also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture.
The Active Control function uniquely and intelligently optimizes picture quality by measuring and analyzing the incoming signal to automatically adjust picture quality settings. Active Control with Light Sensor uses a sensor to adjust the picture brightness depending on the room light conditions.
This TV has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 15 watts per channel (for 30 watts of total power), and can produce Dolby Digital virtual surround sound, emulating a 5.1-channel sound field from just two speakers. It also offers the following connections:
Composite AV (RCA) In: 3 (1 side)
S-Video In: 3 (1 side)
Component Video In (Y PB PR): 2
HDMI In: 2
RF In: 1
PC Audio In: 1
PC Audio Out: 1
Monitor Out: 1
USB: 1
Headphone: 1
The USB connector allows access to multimedia JPEG, MP3, MP3-PRO, and ALB (photo slideshow) files of most USB memory drives and most digital cameras (USB 1.1 memory-class device). Plug the USB connector into the slot at the side of the TV and access your photos or music files.
Tech Talk CableCARD -- The CableCARD system enables the "Plug-and-Play DTV" functionality as agreed between cable operators and consumer electronics manufacturers. It allows the decoding of encrypted or scrambled content delivered from the cable system. CableCARD functionality includes conditional access and copy protection. A CableCARD-enabled television without a CableCARD inserted receives high-definition standard TV broadcasts. When a CableCARD is inserted, the television receives high-value high-definition, cable programming.
HDMI -- HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

I really wanted to like the MP300. However, the photos always came out washed out and fuzzy. Outdoors were passable, but indoor pictures were a disaster...blurry. The camera has no flash, and that seems to be the problem. Video worked OK, but make sure you have a lot of light.
The MP3 player seems like an afterthought. The files played, but you can't do much with them...can't find a shuffle or playlist feature for example. Don't buy this for its ability to play music files.
Like I said, I wanted it to work. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the photos/video are poor quality and the MP3 function is limited. I gave it two stars because it did work and the shipping was great. I probaly keep it around as a "spare", and look for something that takes better pictures.

I love to tell you something good about this product, but I cant. It's a total waste of money. I'm just glad I didn't pay over $80.00 for this. The video quality is HORRIBLE. The photo portion of the device is marginal at best, and with no built in flash you can't get a decent lighted shot unless you flood the room with Movie Lighting.
My Kodak 9.2MP camera blows this thing out of the water. Simply put don't waste your money on this awful product.

Wanted to replace my VHS-C camcorder with a more updated camera. After research, I picked the HDR-XR150. Loaded with features, but small enough to fit in pockets, fanny-packs,etc. Worked great for first communion and graduation footage. Battery runtime is great, would recommend upgrade for extended uses. Works well in low light, 25x zoom is awesome!! Need to learn all of the features yet, but easy enough for beginners to use. I also need to get a blu-ray player so I can take advantage of the HD. Easy to burn dvd's with either computer or Sony DVDirect. I've had the unit for about 1.5 months now. Before I purchased the unit, I read numerous reviews about others hearing a "Buzzing" noise. In life, I work as a Detective/Investigator, so, I dove in deep on what to buy. I shopped everywhere from Sears Electronics, Best Buy, Local Television Electronics shops. I finally purchased the unit about 3 weeks later from ABC Warehouse (They gave the best price). Plus, I personally didn't want to shell out 1800 bucks for my TV and have to risk damage during delivery. Pay for a unit you have to wait for and then risk it arriving broken?! Not for me. :) Every place I shopped, I could hear "NO BUZZING". I inquired about the buzz with the folks at Samsung as well as a local Repair shop. I was told it's due to outside interference. The unit comes with 3 cylinder type filters that need to be PROPERLY placed around both ends of the POWER CORD. There is an instruction leaflet in the paperwork. However, it's in 'Metric' so I gave it the 'ol college try and had no problem with placement. I purchased a Dual Arm Articulating Wall Mount from Ebay for 80 bucks with free shipping, (Awesome Mount!), I Called over a friend to help me lift the screen into place and WOW!!! So much better than my LG - 55" LCD TV - 1080p. The Samsung has "Beautiful RGB Colors, Rich Black/Dark colors, with No haze in the picture". I have a ceiling fan with light that you can barely see in the reflection from the screen. Their anti-glare is great! And the plus, I HEAR NO BUZZING!!!! Now, I don't know if this plays a factor, but I do have the system running through a HTIB (Home Theater in a Box) LG Blu-Ray system. But the fact is, I hear no buzzing or any other annoying sound. It has an Awesome Picture and is very user friendly. I did notice that on the "Dynamic" setting, "Reds" where slightly higher than I would prefer. Problem solved by going into the Picture Menu. Easy Peasy! My set up is as follows, Samsung PN58C590 58-Inch 1080p Plasma, Dish Network HDTV, LG Home Theater Blu-Ray Disk system, and an Xbox 360. All connected and running flawlessly.

Sony HDR-CX150 16GB High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Red) Review

Sony HDR-CX150 16GB High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Red)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this camera on Monday, had fun with it for two days, and then returned it. Although I can't afford it, I then closed my eyes and ordered the HDR-CX550V. I basically went from the bottom of the Sony consumer class to the top in one fell swoop.
Things I liked about the CX150:
* FABULOUS quality in adequate light. The video in 24 Mbps mode is stunning. Search YouTube for examples. Every hair on my cat, dust particles in sunlight, it all shows up with beautiful resolution. It's amazing. Almost Blu-Ray quality. You won't find any consumer-class camcorder with better quality.
* 25x zoom , when used with a tripod, lets you get really close
* "macro" works without any special settings. Just put the lens an inch away and it will focus. Resolves fingerprints.
* Amazingly tiny. With no hard drive or tape drive, the unit is frighteningly small. You can put it and all the cables + charger in a camera case designed for a DSLR + telephoto
* PMB software works, has good basic editing. Used it to grab frames from movies - almost don't need the "still" function if 1990x1080 res is good enough.
* It will take a 32GB memory stick, even though the feature list says they only support 16.
* The touch screen is responsive
* "touch the object" spot focus, spot white balance is cool
* Give it the NP-FV70 battery and it will record for hours and hours
Things I either did not like or features missing (by "missing" I realize that you have to pay more). Don't mistake the length of my 'cons' list as hating the little guy - it's a good camera for what it is designed to be.
* A bit pricey. I think it is worth about $450.00, not the $549.00 list
* No wide-angle. I wish Sony had made the lens go from slightly wide-angle to about 15x, instead of from normal to 25x.
* No external mic input
* No hot shoe - not even the Sony proprietary one
* Zoom motor noise is very audible in quiet settings - don't expect to use this camera to record acoustic orchestral music in concert halls
* The "smooth slow-mo 240 fps" is NOT HD 1080i60 quality. Might be OK at 720, but I found it disappointingly blurry. I'd love to see it have the same capability as the Casio EX-FX1 (not holding breath)
* Not enough buttons - too much reliance on the touch screen. I prefer buttons to scrolling through menus. Sony could fix this by providing more than 6 "my menu" choices.
* Auto focus works good most of the time, but when it gets confused it is horrible. Combine that with no quick focus wheel and it is a recipe for loosing shots
* Picture mode is not available in 24 Mbps HD mode.
* The electronic stabilization does not work. I've grown used to optical stabilization in my DSC-H50 and there is no going back.
* Short of using something like the Black Rapid Straps Fasten-R2 screwed into the tripod shoe, there is no way to attach a neck strap. I almost dropped it several times.
* The plastic housing is sensitive to noise - any little touch while recording will show up as sound in the video.
* No windscreen for the mics. Combine that with no external mic capability and you won't be able to hear anything in windy conditions.
* No remote
* No "night shot" infrared
* Low light performance is what you would expect from a small lens size. All the electronics in the world can't fully compensate for glass area.
Summary: if you want a fairly cheap, tiny camera for shooting GREAT quality vids of vacations, the kids and the pets, this is an excellent choice. Want to do more, and you will need to pay more for a better unit. Just want to help other people avoid my experience of being a bit disappointed and having to trade up.

Panasonic TC-22LH1 22-Inch LCD Flat-Panel TV Review

Panasonic TC-22LH1 22-Inch LCD Flat-Panel TV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Summary:
Fantastic High Definition (HD - 1080i) performance. Good to excellent Standard Definition (SD - 480p) performace with some minor reservations.
Detail:
Physical: This is a nice looking set, the silver with the chrome trim looks elegant. Fit and finish looks good. I think it looks better than the TC-32LH1. Speakers mounted below the screen. The base is secure and does not swivel. However, the screen does tilt forward and backwards from upright. The remote is small, handy, but isn't full of buttons, no backlight (except for the function selection). Detachable panels for hiding cables. Not a whole lot of room for manuvering thick audio and component cables behind the panels. If the panels are used I would recommend flexible thin cables with the smallest plug possible. VESA compatible for mounting. Outboard power supply. Mechanical switch for complete power off.
Features: Video settings can be saved for each device selected! Has MPEG noise reduction and black and white crushing capability (I set mine to "0"). Stereo enhancement, separate bass, treble and balance. No clock. No PIP. No 720p. No DVI (but has HDMI/HDCP). Two wideband component inputs, two composite/SVID inputs. L&R Audio output. No subwoofer output. Has WIDE, NORMAL, JUST (stretch the very edges of the picture, and FULL scaling capability.
Performance general LCD: Excellent black levels for an LCD. Better than a Samsung LTM225W. At or near the black level performance of the Toshiba 26HL83 which I think has one of the better "real world" LCD black levels. Very little smearing with movement indicating a fast response time. Based upon the Samsung LTM225W with a specified 16ms I believe the Panasonic is at least that fast and maybe a bit better. Viewing angles are good. Maybe not the *widest* but still good enough for fairly oblique viewing. Did not find a single bad pixel or sub-pixel.
Performance HD: Watched HD via a Zenith HDV-420 and a SciAtl 3250HD -- every signal upconverted to 1080i. I have no HD generator such as a B&K 1253. Exellent color (see SD/DVD below) which I suspect will be verified with the HDNet test patterns Tuesday morning. The picture is sharp with lots of detail. There is good detail and color even in low level scenes. Despite the rated contrast level (500:1) the effect seems to be much greater than that. There is a realism to the black levels that contributes greatly to the "beliveablity" of the picture. Overall, the HD viewing experience is the best I've seen from an LCD set.
Performance SD/DVD: Utilized a Sony RDR-GX7 with component out set for progressive. No video EQ settings used. DVE, Avia used along with various dics: Lawrence of Arabia (Superbit), Singing in the Rain (new transfer). Many of the DVE and Avia patterns were reproduced incredibly well. As best I can tell through the filters, there is no red, blue, or green push. The Avia flashing color bars are almost spot on with only the green flashin hue/tint (yellow/cyan) being just slightly off. The Panasonic's color temperature of "Neutral" seems to have the best overall color temperature performance. "Warm was too reddish while "blue" was too bluish. The "Neutral" seems to have only a very slight tilt towards blue. The only issues I have with the SD picture seems to be some residual egde enhancement (even with the 22LH1's sharpness set to -30), some "stairstepping" with diagonal lines, and a bit of what looks like "speckling" duing scenes with movement -- as can be seen in the Avia's moving Zone Plate pattern. None of defects are very annoying in my opinion and I haven't completely ruled out the source devices. None of these defects is seen when viewing HD (1080i). Using one of the 1080i upconverting DVD players may reduce or eliminate these defects (my speculation, not verified). Overscan was less than 5%. Overall, the SD viewing experience is good to excellent.
Performance OTA/SD: Good, fairly sensitive NTSC tuner, auto programming picked up all local strong stations and some weaker low-power stations as well. The NTSC picture was a bit soft with the "stairstepping" of diagonal lines noted but enjoyable with good color and contrast and should do nicely in a pinch.
Performance Sound: For a TV of this size, excellent. Plenty of volume. Clear highs and the bass actually has a bit of "oomph". The set utilzes some small woofers so it actually sounds pretty good for simple, standalone, stereo.
Performance Remote: Works well. Somewhat intuitive. No dedicated buttons for input device -- must scroll through. Tip: utilizing the channel up or down button takes you to the "top" of the list. If on Component 2, instead of scrolling through the other devices to get back to Component 1, just change the channel and then press the video button one more time to get to Component 1. Not very flexible for controlling other devices -- basic functions only. Some delay noted when pressing the menu button -- it takes a moment or two for the menu to appear. Fairly wide remote angle.
Overall: I think this is one fine TV: Fantastic HD picture, good to excellent SD/DVD picture, and the features work well. Only the SD/DVD issues keep it from being a full 5 stars. I'd rate it 4.5 stars. It's a keeper.

Panasonic's broad TC-22LH1 is a perfectly flat, 22-inch liquid-crystal display in a widescreen (16:9) dimension that's perfect for viewing DVDs and HDTV broadcasts in their native aspect ratios. Intended for high-end home-theater use, the unit's 1,280 x 720-pixel resolution is enhanced by a motion-adaptive 3D-Y/C digital comb filter (which improves resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl), a high (500:1) contrast ratio, high peak brightness of 450 candles/square meter, and wide (170-degrees horizontal) viewing angles.Active Light Control circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly, enhancing brightness levels for both light and dark scenes. The result is expanded dynamic range from black to white peaks, with crisp, natural pictures. Active System Control works in tandem with active light control to adjust the video signal according to the image contrast, further brightening bright scenes and deepening darker ones. The set's LCD artificial intelligence takes convenience a step further than Panasonic's previous AI technology, providing real-time luminance distribution and boosting gradation in the areas containing the greatest number of image elements. This heightens the perceived depth, detail, and realism of backgrounds behind movie subtitles and of the brightest objects in dark scenes. Panasonic's Pixel controller lets the TC-22LH1 accept a variety of input signals and reproduces images with exceptional precision; it also handles aspect-ratio switching between 4:3 and 16:9 (letterbox) signals. For direct digital quality and convenience, the TC-22LH1 is one of the first sets to offer an HDMI audio/video connection for hookup with a compatible DTV set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver. HDMI supports both multichannel digital audio transmissions and component-video color spacing for true rendering of high-definition video. It also supports the HDCP copy-protection standard. Using a special adapter cable, the video portion of the HDMI signal is backward-compatible with DVI-HDCP devices. You also get two high-resolution component-video inputs, two S-video inputs, and two composite-video input with stereo RCA analog audio jacks. A stereo headphone jack fosters private listening, and the monitor also offers internal, two-way stereo speakers supported by 5.5 watts per channel. The monitor includes a standard, 181-channel NTSC tuner. What's in the Box LCD TV, remote control, remote battery, TV stand, user's manual, and warranty information.

VIZIO VX37L - 37" LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV Review

VIZIO VX37L - 37 LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just bought this unit from Sears for $759, and it's been everything I expect. After reading the review at CNET, it appeared to be the LCD I wanted. I wasn't interested in 1080p because I'm neither a gamer or that overly concerned about seeing every blade of grass during a game. The Vizio VX37L is very adjustable as far as color - you will see reviews about its color settings out of the box (people look like they have terminal sunburn), but the unit is not only fully adjustable for red/green/blue and tint, but has a separate setting for each input (RF coax/antenna, A/V, component, HDMI) so if you like HDMI a little brighter than standard def shows, you can set it that way.
You'll also read comments around the internet about the sound quality. If you're an audiophile, just connect a sound system to the audio-out connections. For the integral speakers, the sound improves remarkably if you use an HDMI connection.
The 37-inch screen is the perfect swap if you're going from a 32-inch 4:3 unit. The picture height is almost identical, and you gain 7 inches in width to give you the 16:9 image.
If you're looking for HD on a budget, and aren't someone who must have maximum resolution, this is a very suitable television at an excellent value.

iView 780PTV 7-Inch Handheld Digital LCD TV, White Review

iView 780PTV 7-Inch Handheld Digital LCD TV, White

I am pretty well pleased with this little TV. I purchased it as a replacement for my analog kitchen TV, and as such, it does a good job. The only minus is that the sound is poor and the volume won't go high enough. When I have the dishwasher, fan, microwave, and water running, I need volume! Today we enjoyed looking at photos of the grand and great-grand kids through the SD card reader as we ate lunch.
As for the battery complaint mentioned in the previous review; we live on the Texas gulf coast so hurricane use was a concern of ours, too. My TV came with a power cable that can be plugged into the car "cigarette lighter", and I find that much more practical than regular (or rechargable) batteries in an emergency. Regular batteries are often in very short supply when a hurricane approaches, but my car battery is always available. And the car plug-in will recharge the TVs' internal battery.
The instructions were sparse and cryptic, but if a great-gramma like me can figure it out. so can you!
